lyrics

If it were Sunday you knew where to find her, ain't at church, but down at the track.
Never did pick a winner, but the though of winnin' brought her back.
Workin' all the angles she could find, takin' or stealin' from anyone.
Some of the times with her feminine wiles, yeah, but most of the time, with her gun.

Then this chance came along, lookin' like a big score.
Goin' to be a bit risky, worth a million, maybe more.
There's just a small crew, split between only four.

The part was simple, just cause a fuss, a slight distraction for the security man.
Then the crew comes 'a flyin' in, from the back of the getaway van.
Pick up them satchels and then go, at least that was part of the plan.

But the driver must have got spooked, 'cause he split with the rig and ran.
Leaving her standing there, now there ain't no doubt.
Ain't giving up or a' gettin' caught when she hears the cops shout.
So she starts 'a firin' while lookin' for her way out.

Up to the top for awhile shootin' away, flew across an alley to another rooftop.
Down the fire escape, continued to run, been three days before she could stop.
Layin' low in some backwater town, all she thought about was finding that guy.
Maybe killin' him really dead, like the old days, an eye for an eye.

While she's waitin' there, startin' to reminisce.
Always just so close, then it turns out like this.
Just about to win big, something goes amiss.

It was time for her to leave, steals a car and goes back to town.
Only one thing for her to do is to find that guy and gun him down.
Finds her partner at a local bar, sittin' there just steaming mad.
Told that partner her idea, says it's the best one she's ever had.

Then just as usual, the whole thing went wrong.
They went to his place, and the guy was long gone.
The cops were waitin' there, the situation had begun.
Everyone was shootin' yeah, ain't nowhere to run.
When you're a criminal, you die with with your gun.
